Merging Duplicate QBO accounts
Overview: With the QBO integration, sometimes a second Quickbooks customer account can be created because it can't find the customer account via the email or their emails are different. In that event, the Ski Club Pro integration will create a new Quickbooks customer account for that user. That new account will carry the household relationship for new orders, so it's best to merge the old account into the new one. The new account will have a number on the end of it, e.g. Doe, John - 123. This will be the account to merge into.
NOTE: Merging Quickbooks account preserves all transactions within the old account, it just moves them into the new one and removes (deletes) the old customer account. Although, this process is easy, please be careful when merging accounts.
Steps to merge a customer account in Quickbooks:
- From within your Quickbooks account, Go to SALES > CUSTOMERS
- Search for the old customer account you want to merge into the new one.
- Go into the customer account and click dropdown under the EDIT on the customer account and select MERGE CONTACTS
- Read instructions but take the old account and make sure you select the new account, e.g. Doe, John - 123 to merge into, click MERGE CONTACTS.
- Now all the transactions will be inside of the new Quickbooks customer account.
That's it!
