Responsible Party for Billing
Overview
Households can identify a Responsible Party for Billing, allowing the household to control which adult receives invoices and other billing-related communications.
The Responsible Party is selected from the adult members of the household.
This setting is displayed on the household as the Household Invoice Recipient.
Household / Parent Experience
The Responsible Party for Billing is managed from the household's account.
To access the household:
- Sign in to the account.
- Open the account menu in the upper-right corner.
- Select My Household.
The household page displays the current Household Invoice Recipient near the top of the page.
Select or Change the Responsible Party
Step 1: Open My Household
From the household page, click Edit Household.
Step 2: Select the Household Invoice Recipient
Locate the Household Invoice Recipient field.
Open the dropdown and select the adult household member who should be responsible for receiving billing communications.
The dropdown also includes a None option which will default back to the household owner.
Step 3: Save the Household
Click Save.
After saving, a confirmation message appears and the selected person is displayed next to Household Invoice Recipient on the household page.
What Does the Responsible Party Receive?
The household's selected Responsible Party is used for:
- Invoices
- Other billing-related emails
This allows households to direct billing communications to the appropriate adult instead of relying solely on the household organizer.
Common Questions
Does the Responsible Party have to be the household organizer?
No. The video demonstrates selecting a different adult household member as the Household Invoice Recipient.
Can a child be selected as the Responsible Party?
No. The selection shown includes the adult household members, but not the child household member.
Can the Responsible Party be changed later?
Yes. Return to My Household → Edit Household, select a different Household Invoice Recipient, and save the household.
Can the household have no Responsible Party selected?
Yes. The Household Invoice Recipient dropdown includes a None option returns back to the default household owner.
